98 Safety Scorers to get Tesla FSD Beta 10.5 instead

Tesla released FSD Beta 10.4 last week after solving an issue they found internally.

Beta 10.4 was released to Tesla employees after it was validated by their QA team. The issue was found and Tesla was quick to release a fix. Tesla released an updated build of the beta at 3 AM to employees. After further testing they released the beta to public beta testers later that day.

Beta 10.4 included improved visualizations and significantly better unprotected left turns, among other improvements.

FSD Beta 10.5

Tesla is iterating on these betas extremely quickly with very noticeable improvements between each one.

Elon says that Tesla will be releasing beta 10.5 in about 10 days, which would put it being released right around Sunday, Novemer 21st.

There's no word yet on what will be included in 10.5, but we've been seeing improved visualizations and increased confidence in recent releases.

98 Safety Scores

Beta 10.4 was the one Tesla hoped to release to additional beta testers who had achieved a score of 98 or higher on Tesla's Safety Score.

Unfortunately, for whatever reason Tesla decided that it was best to wait until expanding the beta further.

Elon is now saying on Twitter that Tesla hopes to expand beta 10.5 to these users 98 score achievers.

Elon is being careful to use the words “hoping to" when referring to expanding the beta to 98 Safety Scores, so there is wiggle room for change.

If you have a 98 Safety Score, the fastest way to get the beta is to raise it to a 99. Tesla only uses the last 30 days to determine your Safety Score, so as your lower scores drop off, try to get newer scores with 100 to raise your average.

Tesla continues to release the current beta, 10.4 to any users who achieve a 99 or higher Safety Score. Tesla appears to be releasing the beta in batches, so you may have to wait a few days.
