Tesla’s Hollywood star is about to get even bigger. According to plans posted on X by @MarcoRPi1, Tesla’s Supercharger/Drive-in/Diner that’s under construction on Santa Monica Boulevard may have more Superchargers right next door.

Expansion Plans

The initial project, which we have been keeping a close eye on, design included 32 Supercharger stalls within the parking lot at 7001 Santa Monica Boulevard. However, Tesla's latest vision drastically increases the number of Superchargers. The company has sought additional permits to expand into the adjacent plot at 1118 N Sycamore Avenue. This extension is proposed to include 48 new Supercharger stalls. These new stalls will also include solar canopies that will provide renewable energy and some protection from the elements.

What the Project Includes

The original project features a two-tiered dining establishment designed to host over 200 diners. A distinctively designed theater seating area is also part of the plan, with a capacity to seat nearly 80 people. This area is specially arranged for patrons to enjoy films showcased on the dual 45-foot-tall LED screens situated in the parking vicinity. The restaurant and charging stations will be open 24/7, while the movie screens will operate from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Programming will be scheduled in 30-minute intervals, aligned with the time needed to charge a vehicle.

The outdoor area will be surrounded by bamboo landscaping, providing a charming ambiance to enjoy a meal while your Tesla charges up. Customers could also opt to have their food delivered straight to their car via a snack bar and carhop area, adding a nostalgic touch to the diner.

The diner itself has taken shape. The primary structure now extends over two levels, with the interconnecting staircase fully installed.

There is already a lot to see and do in Los Angeles, but Tesla is adding another landmark that will be a must-see for owners and fans when visiting the sunshine state.
