Tesla has started sending invitations to Model Y customers in California, marking the first deliveries of the vehicle in North America. It has been a while since Tesla held a traditional delivery event at one of its factories.
The last major delivery event was the Cybertruck launch, which left people with more questions than answers. While celebrities and long-time stockholders received their Cybertrucks, Tesla did not reveal pricing or detailed specs for the Foundation Series at the event.
Launch Series
This time, Tesla is inviting select customers to the refreshed Model Y delivery event happening this Saturday, March 8th.
When Tesla launched the updated Model Y in late January, it estimated North American deliveries would begin in late February to early March. With production now underway and the transition from the previous Model Y moving smoothly, Tesla appears to be right on schedule.
While the non-Launch Series refreshed Model Y has already debuted in Europe and Asia-Pacific, it has yet to reach North America. After this event, Tesla may open orders for the Long Range and RWD versions at more accessible prices.
The refreshed Model Y brings several upgrades, including the return of the turn signal stalk, a front bumper camera (will FSD require a front bumper cam?), and improved ride comfort. If you haven’t checked it out yet, Tesla is showcasing the new Model Y at locations worldwide—definitely worth a look!
