Yesterday, Tesla started rolling out FSD V14.1.5 with update 2025.38.8.5 to employees and early access owners. This update is thus far exclusive to the Cybertruck and marks the first time the Cybertruck is receiving FSD v14.
This update catapults the Cybertruck, which has long been the red-headed stepchild in terms of FSD capabilities, to nearly complete feature parity with the rest of Tesla’s lineup.
Let’s take a look at all the features it includes.
Start FSD from Park
There’s a lot to take in when you step into a Cybertruck that’s on FSD v14.1.5, starting with the fabled blue “Start Self-Driving” button that finally shows up in the Cybertruck’s uniquely styled UI. Tap the button, and FSD will automatically shift into Drive or Reverse and get rolling. Although the Cybertruck already had FSD v13.2.9, it lacked many features available in other HW4 vehicles, and Start FSD from Park was just one of them.
With this update, owners no longer need to shift into drive before engaging FSD.
Ability to Reverse
For the first time, the Cybertruck can now reverse, just like Tesla’s other HW4 models. Combined with Start FSD from Park, that means the truck can now back out of parking spots or shift between drive and reverse to get out of tight situations.
Autopark (Pull-In)
While Autopark was already available on the Cybertruck, this FSD v14 update also includes the new arrival options that allows the Cybertruck to park when it arrives at its destination automatically.
Now, with FSD v14.1.5, the Cybertruck can properly park head-first into a parking stall. However, some early testers have noted quirks with this, and until those are resolved, we still recommend keeping your foot above the brake when pulling into a tight spot. The Cybertruck’s size doesn’t leave much room for error.

Improved AutoShift
The Cybertruck has had a very simple version of AutoShift to date. While in Park, you could tap the brake pedal to select the recommended direction (Forward or Reverse), but you would not be able to perform a 3-point turn the same way you could on AutoShift with other vehicles.
Now, that has finally changed, and there is full AutoShift support for the Cybertruck. That means you simply have to pause, and the direction of travel will change automatically as you perform a 3-point turn or similar maneuver.

Tesla’s executive team promised that the core items that make up FSD V14 would make their way to the Cybertruck, and for the most part, they’ve held to that promise.
That means that the new components that make FSD V14 so special are finally arriving on the Cybertruck. This includes handling for emergency vehicles, arrival options, Mad Max Mode, UI improvements, and more. The list of improvements includes:
Park-at-Destination Options
Improved Handling of Emergency Vehicles
Dynamic Navigation & Routing for handling blocked roads and detours
Mad Max and Sloth Mode Speed Profiles
Improved Handling for Gates
Improved Offsetting for Road Debris
Improved Handling for Unprotected Left Turns, Lane Changes, Cut-Ins, and School Buses
Fault Recovery and Increased Reliability
Camera Residue Build-Up Notification
The release notes for the Cybertruck are essentially the same as other HW4 vehicles, with the exception of the Robotaxi-style camera cleaning that’s currently exclusive to the new Model Y.

Update 2025.38
One thing that makes this release interesting is that it’s based on Tesla update 2025.38 and not update 2025.32, like Tesla’s other FSD V14 updates. It’s possible the Cybertruck is on a completely separate FSD build than other models, but it could also mean that Tesla’s next FSD release for other models will also be based on update 2025.38, which adds 3D buildings, Tron Mode, Dashcam Viewer updates, and Grok in Canada.
Features Still Missing
There are two big features still missing from the Cybertruck, and now it just seems odd that Tesla hasn’t managed to include them. Given the rush to release FSD for the Cybertruck over the weekend following Halloween, these two features may still be coming, but we haven’t heard any news about them quite yet.
Actually Smart Summon
The biggest miss is the lack of Actually Smart Summon. Being able to call your spaceship of a truck to yourself or to a specified location would be a jaw-dropping feature that many people have been looking forward to since FSD first arrived on the Cybertruck just over 14 months ago.
Instead, there has been radio silence from Tesla on this particular feature, which we suspect they are having difficulty implementing due to the Cybertruck’s size and four-wheel steering.
Tesla seems to be working on a new build of Actually Smart Summon with the lessons learned from Robotaxi operations across 2025, so improvements may be on the way, and the Cybertruck may be included.
Summon
The Cybertruck is a big vehicle, and being able to park it in tight locations can often be a challenge, especially with its larger, heavy doors. Having the ability to move the truck forward and backward smoothly would definitely come in handy, but so far, the original “dumb” summon is still missing from Cybertruck.
The missing feature is likely related to the fact that the Cybertruck does not have Autosteer, as Basic Summon likely relies on that older software stack.
Release Timelines
As V14.1.5 has just rolled out to employees and early access users, we can expect, if testing goes well (and it seems to be, so far), that Tesla will begin rolling it out to more owners over the next few days.
That means that over the next couple of weeks, all Cybertruck owners with FSD will hopefully receive FSD V14.1.5 or a similar build based on our observations and Tesla’s usual rollout schedule.
