Tesla has released FSD v14.1.7 with software update 2025.38.8.7. This release was initially going to early-access testers last night, but regular customers have now started receiving the update this morning.
While this update includes bug fixes for FSD v14, it also updates the FSD branch to the latest 2025.38 branch, adding features such as Tron Mode and 3D buildings. It also makes FSD v14 available to all vehicles, including those on a 2025.38 update for the first time.
Notably, Tesla skipped FSD v14.1.6, which appeared in the wild on social media for a few hours earlier this week before the post was taken down for containing identifying information about the vehicle owner.
Availability
If you’ve had a recently purchased vehicle or recently bought or subscribed to FSD, then you’ve likely been on update 2025.38, which means that your vehicle was ineligible for FSD v14.
FSD v14 was based on update 2025.32, and Tesla doesn’t typically let vehicles roll backward in software. However, now that FSD v14.1.7 is based on the 2025.38 branch, it becomes available to everyone in an eligible region and vehicle.
While FSD v14 is currently limited to the U.S. and Canada, it’s available on all HW4 vehicles.
New Features
FSD v14.1.7 includes the same release notes as previous FSD V14.1 versions. That means that new features like Mad Max Mode are included, along with the new destination parking options, but there aren’t any other new FSD features. The most significant part of this release is the addition of new features in update 2025.38. For anyone who has been on FSD v14, they’ve been missing out on 3D buildings in maps and the controversial Tron Mode (use the Tron lock sound without Tron Mode).
For those users, they’ll now be receiving the new features that came out in 2025.38, including 3D Buildings in Navigation, Grok in Canada, updates to Dashcam Viewer, Profile Phone Key Locking, new Charger Visualizations while parked, and Tron Mode.
New Visualizations
While we don’t expect anything beyond bug fixes for FSD, there is one exception that still remains to be seen. With update 2025.38, Tesla included 15 new FSD visualizations. A few users on FSD v13 were recently able to see the new 3D models.
Now that FSD v14 is on the same software branch, it’s possible that those users may be able to see the new visuals as well. Tesla often implements these types of improvements through server-side configurations, allowing them to be turned on or off at any time. Tesla can also enable them on individual vehicles, specific regions or models for testing.
We expect these new visualizations to be available to everyone soon, but they may be limited to select vehicles for now.
Roll Out
This latest FSD update went from early-access testers to customers in a very short period of time. This likely means Tesla is focusing exclusively on bug fixes in this release. While FSD v14 has performed well, it has had some braking issues for objects such as leaves on the road. Hopefully, some of these issues are resolved with this release.
With the first wave going out to customers this morning, we expect Tesla to continue rolling out additional waves, potentially tonight and tomorrow.
All Models
While the Cybertruck received FSD V14 for the first time with FSD v14.1.5 (update 2025.38.8.5) early last week, that update remained exclusive to the Cybertruck. However, with this latest FSD update, it’s now available for all HW4 vehicles in the U.S. and Canada, including the Cybertruck.
The features that each vehicle receives are mostly the same, unlike FSD v13, which left out major features from the Cybertruck. Summon and Actually Smart Summon are the notable missing features for the Cybertruck, but it does bring Start FSD from Park and the ability to reverse this time around.

Elon Musk’s latest roadmap, along with further updates from the Earnings Call and Shareholder Meeting, point to V14.2 and V14.3 as the next two major releases. These new builds of FSD V14 are bigger milestones, along with the many follow-up releases that Tesla’s AI team has been planning for FSD.
There’s a lot to look forward to, and if you’re currently on update 2025.38, you’ll soon be able to experience FSD v14 for the first time.
