Tesla’s global expansion of FSD (Supervised) is set to enter its next major market. On November 12th, Tesla Korea officially announced that the feature is coming soon to South Korea.
The post features a video of a Model S navigating the complex, dense urban environment of Seoul. That includes handling multi-lane roads, dense traffic and pedestrians, and parking at the very end, all without any driver intervention.

Generalized Autonomy
This teaser is a sign that Tesla has been working with South Korea to get the feature approved, and it’s likely in testing phases before being rolled out to testers.
Tesla's rapid entry into new markets is thanks to its vision-based AI neural networks, which can translate learnings from different parts of the world and combine them with Korean-specific data gathered by Teslas driving the roads there every day. While vision isn’t as accurate as radar or LiDAR, it's much easier to train than other sensors, resulting in much better capabilities.
Interestingly, Tesla’s video shows off FSD V13, not the V14 build that is being deployed in the United States and Canada. FSD V14 still has some hiccups, and using the most stable, proven production build —even with fewer features —makes more sense in a new market.
Rollout Plan
Launching with the bleeding-edge V14 build would be a much higher-risk move for the new market and could potentially run into regulator scrutiny. While Tesla advertised FSD as coming soon, the full rollout will likely be staggered, similar to the rollout of FSD Supervised in Australia.
That also likely means that it’ll be limited to HW4 vehicles, the same we saw in every expansion outside of North America. These new markets are still limited to HW4 vehicles, but Tesla does plan to add HW3 vehicles in the future.
Expansion
This is the latest in a series of global expansions for FSD, which has now expanded to China, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, and Canada since its introduction in the United States. As FSD improves, you can see the acceleration into new markets as Tesla becomes more confident and other markets begin to recognize the advantage of FSD.
Tesla has also done testing in Italy, the Netherlands, Japan, Spain, the UK, Germany, and France. Israel is likely Tesla’s next market, as regulators there appear keen to introduce FSD.
There’s a lot to come, and it seems Tesla’s promises of a global rollout aren’t too far away.
