Tesla has officially launched a way to put a bow on autonomy, introducing a One Month Full Self-Driving (Supervised) Gift Card in the United States, allowing owners to give friends and family the experience of FSD.
While Tesla previously announced plans for a gifting program, this rollout confirms the mechanics of the program. This card is a digital gift card designed to cover the specific cost of a one-month subscription, including taxes.
The Gift of Autonomy
The gift card is priced at $112.00, but there’s a reason why it’s more than the $99/month owners pay.
This amount covers the standard $99/month FSD subscription fee, plus up to 13% in applicable sales taxes. Tesla does note that while the $112 covers most scenarios, it is not guaranteed to cover the full monthly cost of FSD if pricing or tax rates change.
Not Locked to FSD
Unlike a dedicated code, this gift card functions as any other gift card within the Tesla ecosystem. The recipient simply redeems the gift card into their Tesla Wallet.
From there, they can use the $112 as they like. The balance is not locked in to be used for FSD. You can use them for any Tesla product or service that accepts gift card balances, including Supercharging, Shop accessories, and Service Visits.
To redeem for FSD, the recipient must own a capable vehicle (HW3 or HW4-equipped), have a valid payment method on file, and not have already purchased FSD outright on the vehicle they are redeeming for.
Availability
For now, the card is only available in the United States. Based on Tesla’s typical rollout patterns, we expect availability to expand to the rest of North America in the following days, potentially followed by Australia and New Zealand, the only other countries where a FSD subscription is available.
