Tesla has begun pushing FSD v14.2.2.4 with software update 2025.45.9 to customers in small waves. While the official release notes remain identical to the base v14.2.2 build, early testing suggests this is yet another update focused on polishing and improving smoothness, navigation logic, and handling of complex environments.
Polishing A Gem
Reviews from early testers tell us a few things in particular. First and foremost, this is still an FSD v14.2.2 build, but most importantly, it is just a bit more polished than the last release.
That polish shows up primarily with lane discipline on curvy roads. FSD is better able to stay centered between the lines at higher speeds and has better decision-making when executing passes on multi-lane roads.
As expected, FSD v14.2.2.4 does extremely well even on tight, dark, and twisty canyon roads.

Speed profiles also remain unchanged, but with some minor hesitancy when creeping towards and after stop signs. While that creeping hesitancy can be a good thing, it can make FSD seem less confident than it actually is, which can reduce driver trust.
Alongside that, some improvements to navigation behavior have begun to appear, hopefully fixing one of the longest-standing issues with FSD v14: wildly incorrect navigation suggestions. Tesla’s nav has been looping people around with 3 left turns over a right, or sometimes skipping a highway exit to take the next one, and then looping back around for no reason. This latest build, according to testers, shows some improvements in some particularly strange spots that they’ve noticed.

Another Small Step Toward Autonomy
While FSD v14.2.2.4 is another mouthful of a release number, it is another build that Tesla’s AI team has successfully polished and fine-tuned. These successive point releases help test various changes to the neural networks during training and can influence how Tesla makes changes in larger releases, like the upcoming FSD v14.3, which is supposed to include expanded reasoning capabilities.
