In a quiet update to the Tesla mobile app this weekend, the company has officially lowered the subscription pricing of FSD (Supervised) to $49 per month for owners who have already purchased Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) (differences between Basic Autopilot, EAP, and FSD).
This is a 50% discount off the standard $99/month subscription rate for all other owners.
Who Qualifies
This new pricing is strictly for owners who already paid for the Enhanced Autopilot package - a middle-tier option that Tesla sold for years (typically for $6,000 USD), before discontinuing it in recent years.
EAP owners already have access to Navigate on Autopilot, Auto Lane Change, and Autopark. By charging them the full $99/month for FSD, Tesla was effectively asking them to pay twice for features they already owned. The new flat $49/month rate acknowledges their initial upfront investment and charges them only for the difference between EAP and FSD (primarily city street driving).
Should You Just Buy FSD?
Owners of EAP have the option to upgrade to FSD for only $2,000 USD. This actually ends up being a good deal when you consider that it’ll switch the whole Autopilot stack to FSD v14 and then add city driving, parking at the destination, etc.
For many EAP owners, it makes sense to purchase the upgrade soon, as Tesla plans to permanently remove the option to purchase FSD outright on February 14, 2026.
The $2,000 option equates to about 41 months (~3.5 years) of FSD at the new reduced pricing. However, if Tesla increases pricing again in the future, as Elon Musk has already confirmed, the payoff will be much sooner. Musk stated that as capabilities grow, so will the price. If you plan to keep your vehicle for more than 3.5 years, your best bet is to go ahead and purchase FSD up-front.
The discounted rate is now live in both the United States and Canada. Owners can verify their eligibility by checking the "Upgrades" > "Software Upgrades" tab in the Tesla app.
