Tesla just dropped the most affordable version of its electric pickup to date, and we’re finally getting a clear look at exactly what you get (and what you don't) inside the cabin.
Over the weekend, Tesla’s lead Cybertruck engineer, Wes Morrill, shared the first real-world photos of the new $59,990 Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Cybertruck's interior. While the price tag is a massive $20,000 drop from the Premium (formerly Long Range) trim, the changes show that Tesla is leaning into a more utilitarian, "work truck" vibe for this base model.
Tesla's Cheapest Cybertruck Ever
For $59,990 (even lower if you use a referral code or qualify for other discounts from Tesla), this new trim is a serious upgrade over the short-lived Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) model that was both launched and discontinued last year. Unlike that version, which was criticized for lacking basic truck features, this AWD model keeps the core utility intact.
You still get the powered tonneau cover, the 6’ x 4’ composite bed, and the essential Powershare capability. For anyone working on a job site, the 120V and 240V bed outlets are still there to power heavy-duty tools. Tesla managed to keep the performance high as well, matching the more expensive trims with a 4.1-second 0-60 mph time and 325 miles of range. To save costs, the expensive air suspension was swapped for coil springs with adaptive damping, meaning you lose adjustable ride height but keep a smooth, capable ride.
Tactical Grey Interior
The cabin is where the cost-cutting is most visible. Morrill confirmed that the seats, dashboard, and door panels are all finished in a "tactical grey" interior trim, paired with a black textile headliner.

Textile Seats: The premium vegan leather is gone, replaced by a durable, easy-to-clean grey textile material.
No Cooling: While the front seats are still heated, they are no longer ventilated (cooled).
Rear Passenger Cuts: The 9.4-inch rear entertainment screen has been removed entirely, and the second-row seats are no longer heated.
Simplified Audio: The massive 15-speaker premium system has been downgraded to a 7-speaker setup.
Console & Lighting: The front center console has been simplified, and the signature wrap-around ambient lighting has been removed.
By stripping away these luxury touches rather than the truck's mechanical performance, Tesla has created a vehicle that feels much more focused on being a hardcore tool for contractors.
Limited-Time Pricing
If you’re on the fence about this budget beast, you’ll need to act fast. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confirmed that the $59,990 price tag is a limited-time offer, stating it will be available "only for the next 10 days."
Musk’s comments indicate that the future price will depend on the demand Tesla sees at this current level. This suggests the truck might stay in the lineup, but the price could easily jump by $5,000 or $10,000 once the clock runs out.
