Tesla has officially launched a new charging accessory aimed at properties requiring freestanding infrastructure: the Tall Pedestal for Wall Connector. Now available on the Tesla shop for $900, the towering 76-inch aluminum post is designed to offer maximum flexibility for commercial locations, apartment complexes, and open parking lots.
The Hardware
Built specifically to mount Gen 3 Universal Wall Connectors for stand-alone charging, the pedestal is constructed from rugged aluminum to handle both indoor and outdoor environments. The 76-inch post features an integrated, durable bracket designed to keep charging cords neatly looped and off the ground, ensuring a clean and organized charging area.
Included in the $900 kit is the pedestal itself, two cable brackets, four wire glands to support global wiring options, and four mounting screws to secure the Wall Connector.
Single and Dual Configurations
Perhaps the most appealing feature for commercial deployments and fleet operators is the unit’s dual-mount capability. The Tall Pedestal supports both single and dual-mounted configurations, allowing a single freestanding structure to host two separate Wall Connectors.
This setup allows two vehicles to charge simultaneously from the exact same point. For businesses looking to expand their charging footprint, this is a massive advantage. The Tall Pedestal can significantly reduce the trenching, conduit, and labor costs associated with installing multiple individual charging stations across a large lot.
The Commercial Business Case
While the $900 price tag may make some people wonder about the pricing, these units are not intended or priced for residential or consumer use, even though you could purchase and set one up.
Tesla currently sells a standard, shorter Wall Connector pedestal for $425; the new $900 Tall Pedestal is explicitly built to stand at a highly visible, driver-friendly height in open parking environments where a structural wall or column simply isn't available.
By providing a clean, native freestanding solution, Tesla is making it easier than ever for businesses, hotels, and property managers to adopt its hardware and seamlessly integrate EV charging into their properties.
