As Tesla pushes Full Self-Driving closer to unsupervised autonomy, maintaining crystal-clear visibility for the vehicle's suite of cameras is more important than ever. With the newly released FSD v14.3 update, Tesla is making it significantly easier for drivers to identify and address obstructed sensors on the fly.
Building on Previous Feedback
In previous builds like v14.2, Tesla began refining the user experience for camera maintenance by introducing more specific labels for visibility warnings. Instead of displaying a generic alert that a camera was blinded, the system started pinpointing exactly which sensor was experiencing issues, saving drivers from having to walk around the car to find the culprit.
What’s New in v14.3
Now, version 14.3 takes that user experience a step further. As seen in recent images shared by early-access testers, the "Self-Driving Visibility Limited" warning has been given a major visual overhaul to make the issue easier to see.
When a camera becomes blocked, the vehicle now displays a much larger, prominent pop-up box directly over the visualization on the main screen. This updated alert features a much larger, high-resolution photo from the affected camera.
Along with the still image of the camera feed and the specific camera label, the interface says: "Clear all dirt, debris, or water from camera."
Reducing Guesswork
This UI change is a massive quality-of-life improvement for drivers. By presenting a large view of the problem, owners no longer have to guess whether a camera is blinded by a stray water droplet, heavy mud, or simply direct sunlight glare. They also do not have to manually open the camera app to diagnose the issue.
This visual feedback takes the guesswork out of sensor maintenance, ensuring drivers can quickly clean the exact lens that needs attention and get FSD back to optimal performance.
