Personalized Messaging for Your Furry Friends
The most immediate change users will notice is the updated on-screen message designed to reassure concerned passersby. For years, the screen simply displayed a generic message. Tesla eventually updated this to "My driver will be back soon," which was a shift from the original "My owner will be back soon." Many believe the "owner" phrasing was dropped after some mischievous drivers started leaving their significant others in the car with the mode on as a joke.
With the new Pet Mode, the screen now reads: "Don't worry! [Pet’s Name] is chillin'." This personalized touch allows you to type in your pet’s actual name so people walking by know exactly who is inside. Alongside the name, the screen continues to display the current A/C temperature in large, bold text. The car maintains a consistent temperature using the climate control system and will send a notification to your phone if the battery drops below 20% or the HVAC malfunctions.
