Tesla has been quietly preparing a major layout overhaul for how owners analyze their charging data on mobile, and it’s finally going live. While the underlying code for the changes started rolling out last week with version 4.58.0 of the Tesla mobile app, the new interface wasn’t available until now.
The rollout is being staggered, meaning only a handful of users have the new menus right now. If you don’t see the changes yet, it’s just a matter of waiting for the server-side switch to flip for your vehicle. Once the update lands, you will find a treasure trove of new metrics, charging charts, and interactive rewards.
Charge Stats 2
The mobile app’s charge tracking module has received its biggest cosmetic changes since launch. Previously, the Charge Stats screen only displayed a basic bar graph separating your home, work, and public plug-in locations. Now, the main interface is dominated by an interactive, dynamic map showing the exact geographic locations of every Supercharger you have connected to during the tracked timeframe. By default, the app filters information across the last 12 months, but you can tap on the calendar icon at the top to select custom date ranges.
The information panels below the map have also been expanded to include more practical metrics. In addition to tallying your total charging spend and comparing those numbers against equivalent local gas prices, the app now also tracks the total range added over your charging sessions. Seeing total miles or kilometers charged gives drivers a much better look at real-world efficiency than just staring at raw dollar amounts or energy values. You can still tap back and forth between Total Charged and Total Spent to instantly swap the tracking graph views.
The category icons underneath the main chart are also more descriptive. They now display both the exact total of kilowatt-hours consumed while charging, alongside the exact percentage that type of charger was utilized over your selected time window.
Badges
Tesla is finally giving its seasonal charging awards a permanent home inside the app. Instead of tracking special events through just temporary banners, you can now view all of the badges you’ve collected by completing charging missions in a dedicated Badges menu found right underneath Charge Stats in the Charging section.
This section serves to gamify ownership by breaking your achievements into two main categories: Milestones and Iconic Chargers. Milestones organize your seasonal rewards by year. 2026 Milestones include badges like Charging Streak (earned by using the Supercharger network four weeks in a row) and Explorer (awarded after visiting at least 10 unique Supercharger stations), as well as historical items like the Spring Festival badge or the Earth Day badge that owners earned for plugging in on April 22 this year.
Meanwhile, the Iconic Chargers category rewards drivers for embarking on road trips to famous charging landmarks. Finding stations near the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, or Gigafactory Berlin will immediately unlock a unique collectible badge, as will visiting novel sites like the Tesla Diner in Hollywood. While the digital stamps look pretty sharp, the system would be even better if it also let you look at real-world photos of the locations. It reminds us of a trading card game or stamp collection challenge, though collecting them all isn’t really realistic since the stations are sprinkled across different continents.

2026 Free Supercharging Competition
In tandem with the launch of these new tracking features, Tesla is kicking off the 2026 Free Supercharging Competition, designed to reward the most dedicated road-trippers on the network.
"In January 2027, Tesla will celebrate nine outstanding Supercharger users from 2026 by awarding them free Supercharging for their Tesla vehicle for as long as they own it," said Tesla. "Winners are determined by their use of the Supercharger network throughout the 2026 calendar year. Three winners will be selected in each of three regions, for a total of nine winners worldwide."
The contest will divide the globe into three geographic territories, awarding one lifetime free Supercharging prize per region across three performance categories:
Longest Trip: Given to the driver with the longest continuous streak of unique Supercharger visits in 2026, where each new site is visited within 24 hours of the previous session's start time.
Most Unique Supercharger Sites Visited: Granted to the owner who logs the highest number of unique Supercharger sites visited in the year.
Most Energy Supercharged: Awarded to the user who logs the highest total energy charged in kWh at Superchargers throughout the 2026 calendar year.
You don’t need to do anything special to enter the competition, but there’s one critical step you can’t forget. Your final statistics for the competition will be recorded from your stats when you view your 2026 Charging Passport for the last time. Because of this rule, you must open the 2026 Passport screen in the mobile app at least once before January 1, 2027, to remain eligible for prize selection. Tesla will notify the nine global winners by email in January 2027, and the lifetime free Supercharging status will be applied to the winning vehicles before March 1, 2027.
