Camping inside your Tesla Model 3 is getting a lot more comfortable, especially if you prefer buying first-party gear straight from the source. Tesla Shop has officially launched the new Model 3 Air Mattress in North America, introducing a custom sleep setup tailored specifically for the smaller sedan.

Longtime Tesla watcher @niccruzpatane first noticed the item on Tesla’s digital storefront, where it is retailing for $235. “The Model 3 Air Mattress fits snuggly across the flat-folded rear seats and trunk of Model 3, giving you extra comfort during your overnight trips or afternoon naps,” the product listing reads. “Three-inch high-density foam creates a soft landing pad within a durable, waterproof polyester exterior. Quickly inflate with the integrated air pump and, after you’ve gotten some rest, deflate and store the mattress in your vehicle’s sub trunk.”

Built-In Pump and Perfect Fit

The retail bundle includes one air mattress (with an integrated air pump) measuring 82.7" x 51.6" x 3.9", a carry bag, and a repair kit. It is compatible with all Model 3 vehicle generations.

Unlike most aftermarket solutions, Tesla’s Model 3 Air Mattress features a built-in, USB-C-powered air pump. You can simply plug the integrated cord directly into the Model 3’s rear USB-C ports to inflate the mattress in a couple of minutes. Once you’re done resting, you can just deflate the mattress, pack it up in the included carry bag, and stow it away (hint: it’s a perfect fit for the Model 3’s sub-trunk).

While third-party accessory makers have sold generic cushions and mattresses for Tesla vehicles for years, official gear molded to the exact contours of the vehicle cabin always sells out pretty fast. The Model 3 Air Mattress is already out of stock at the time of writing, but those interested in buying one can sign up for instant restock notifications right on the store page.

Expanding the Car Camping Family

This release expands an increasingly popular catalog of outdoor lifestyle gear from Tesla. Just last week, Tesla launched a custom air mattress built for the Cybertruck’s truck bed as part of this year’s “Summer Collection” products. The new Model 3 Air Mattress adds to this lineup.

As for the Model Y, Tesla has been selling air mattresses for its best-selling SUV since 2024. The product team even started selling a single-person air mattress for the Model Y to let solo travelers keep half of their trunk open for storage, though that smaller variant still hasn’t made its way to the North American market. This new Model 3 Air Mattress ensures that owners of Tesla’s smaller sedan don’t get left out of the summer car-camping trend.
