Tesla’s Full Self-Driving development cycle is moving behind the scenes as new, unreleased software iterations undergo internal testing. A never-seen-before FSD (Supervised) build has surfaced in the wild, spotted on a pre-production fleet unit and pointing toward an upcoming public push.

Longtime Tesla watcher @SawyerMerritt revealed on X on Thursday that a Model Y L test unit he was demo driving had the unreleased software installed, noting:

“My Model Y L test unit has a currently unreleased version of FSD: V14.3.7”

Under-the-Hood Polish and Bug Fixes

A look at the underlying documentation shows that the release notes for FSD 14.3.7 are identical to FSD 14.3.6. When Tesla pushes consecutive builds carrying matching release documentation, it usually signals under-the-hood performance improvements, system optimizations, and bug fixes rather than brand-new user-facing features.

Since FSD 14.3.6 started rolling out to consumer vehicles last week, 14.3.7 appears to focus on refining existing features. It doesn’t look like this version brings any major feature additions big enough to mention in the release notes, leaning instead into minor improvements and neural net tuning.

Internal Testing Ahead of a Public Rollout

Seeing this software build on a test vehicle indicates that Tesla employees are currently validating the update in real-world conditions. It was installed on a Model Y L, the three-row, six-seat version of the Model Y that Tesla launched in the U.S. earlier this month.

Not a Tesla App

Tesla is offering the Model Y L in an exclusive Launch Series trim for early buyers ahead of customer deliveries starting in September. Prospective buyers can already check out the Model Y L in person at Tesla stores and showrooms across the U.S.

With internal validation currently underway across test fleets, we expect FSD 14.3.7 to clear testing and start rolling out publicly to consumer vehicles in the next couple of weeks or so. Stay tuned for details on exactly what FSD 14.3.7 contains and how it drives once the update officially becomes available.
