Commercial freight in Europe is about to get a massive electric shakeup. Tesla has officially confirmed that it will unveil full European specifications and launch details for the Tesla Semi next month at the IAA Transportation show in Hannover, Germany.
The announcement was posted on X by the official @tesla_semi account alongside a teaser video showcasing the updated Class 8 hauler.

The confirmation comes after Tesla hired a Business Development Manager for Semi sales in France earlier this month to oversee commercial operations, signaling that an official European rollout was right around the corner.
Tesla’s Refreshed Class 8 Electric Platform
The truck heading to European roads is the updated, refreshed version of the Semi unveiled last fall. High-volume manufacturing is currently scaling up at Tesla’s dedicated Semi facility near Gigafactory Nevada to support global demand.
The refreshed truck comes in two distinct battery variants: a Standard Range model offering 325 miles of range and a Long Range configuration with a larger, 822 kWh battery capable of traveling up to 500 miles fully loaded at an 82,000-lb gross vehicle weight. Inside the cabin, the workspace has been completely redesigned around driver ergonomics. The interior features a central driving position flanked by dual 16-inch touchscreens, integrated wireless phone chargers, easy-to-reach cup holders, and updated side windows designed so drivers can easily reach out to grab toll tickets or paperwork.
The Tesla Semi also comes with autonomous driving hardware right off the line, including 10 external cameras and an internal cabin camera. While these sensors handle standard active safety features like automatic emergency braking today, Tesla has confirmed that they will eventually support full autonomy once Full Self-Driving lands on the Semi, easing driver strain across long-haul highway routes.
Scaling Nevada Output for Global Fleets
Announcing European launch plans confirms that manufacturing capacity in Nevada is accelerating fast enough to support international fleet deliveries alongside the sizeable North American orders Tesla already has.
Tesla recently secured a landmark commitment for 500 Semi units from Swedish freight mobility company Einride, its biggest order for the refreshed trucks yet. Those trucks are destined for North American operations, with initial customer handoffs beginning in September and the full fleet phasing in over a two-year deployment window.
With IAA Transportation running from September 15 to 20 in Hannover, European fleet managers will soon get their first look at local pricing, 1,200 kW Megacharger infrastructure rollout plans, delivery timelines, and maybe even a local production roadmap for Tesla’s all-electric heavy-duty hauler.
