Slovakia has officially approved Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) for use on its roads. Tesla Europe announced the news on X, noting that the supervised autonomy software has been approved and will begin rolling out in the country soon.
Slovakia is now the ninth European country to approve FSD, which recently got a new name in Europe. Tesla renamed FSD (Supervised) to Tesla Assisted Driving across the continent as part of its push for EU-wide approval.
Where Tesla Assisted Driving Is Approved in Europe
These countries have independently approved FSD for public roads so far:
Netherlands
Lithuania
Estonia
Denmark
Belgium
Slovenia
Czechia
Croatia
Slovakia
Most of these approvals have come through national exemptions, with countries recognizing the framework first set up by Dutch regulators. Slovakia follows its neighbor Czechia, which approved FSD in September, as well as Croatia later that month.
Across the globe, FSD has now been approved in 17 countries.

Like in other European markets, the rollout should start with HW4 vehicles running Tesla’s European build of FSD v14, which is fine-tuned for local speed limits, lane-change rules, and roundabout conventions.
The Road to EU-Wide Approval
Individual approvals are only part of the plan. The EU vote on bloc-wide approval was previously delayed to December, and Tesla will need a qualified majority of at least 15 countries in favor to win it.
Germany could help. After saying it was open to approving FSD, Germany’s Transport Ministry agreed to support FSD in the EU vote if Tesla renamed it and limited it to exceeding speed limits by no more than 10%. Tesla has since made the name change, though it hasn’t confirmed the cap on TAD’s Speed Offset toggle.
Some countries are still pushing back. France and Sweden have opposed bloc-wide approval over the Speed Offset feature, which can let it exceed posted speed limits.
More Countries Could Follow
Tesla is still pursuing national approvals ahead of December. It’s in talks with Italy, and Ireland is nearing a decision of its own.
With nine countries on board and Germany backing the push, Tesla needs at least six more votes to reach the 15-country threshold. Slovakian owners should start seeing Tesla Assisted Driving in their vehicles over the coming weeks.
