The Cybertruck is now due to start production in late 2022, but we're now starting to get some additional details.
Tesla released a video (available below) that talks about Tesla Glass to promote its quiet cabin. In the video, the Cybertruck windshield is shown being carried by a forklift. Due to the Cybertruck's design, the windshield on the Cybertruck sits at a much sharper angle than most cars, including other Teslas.
The Cybertruck, like other medium-duty trucks, is already quite large when compared to a regular car or SUV, but the windshield's acute angle causes the windshield to be absolutely massive.
A portion of the windshield is tucked underneath the hood, allowing the wipers to be almost invisible and increasing aerodynamics, making the windshield even large.
The diagonal cutout you see at the bottom of the windshield is normal and is positioned underneath the hood, so it won't be visible. It's a Tesla design that is already used in other Tesla windshields, like the Model 3.
Tesla is no stranger to large pieces of glass. The Model X also features a large windshield as the windshield continues onto the roof line, similar to the rear glass of the Tesla Model 3.
