Tesla was set to release their latest FSD Beta 10.2 on Friday at midnight, but some last minute issues came up that needed to be fixed. Beta 10.2 will be the first beta to see an expansion with public testers, giving the public access to the beta, if they have a perfect Safety Score.

Elon confirmed that the version 10.2 is now ready and will be distributed on Sunday at midnight to all testers, including the new public testers.
Tesla will be adding about 1,000 new testers to the FSD program through the use of Safety Scores, which aims to have the safest drivers testing out the beta. The addition of 1,000 testers will be about a 50% increase in total testers for FSD.
Tesla has been working on merging their FSD stacks of city driving with highway driving. We may see that happen with the release of 10.2 later tonight. It’ll be interesting to see how much better Navigate on Autopilot will be on highways when the same principles of city driving are applied to highway driving.
Tesla would like to continue to expand the program to more beta testers, but has said that once they release the FSD Beta to top Safety Score achievers, they will hold off on expansion for at least a few days.

They will use this time to assess the progress of the beta with its additional testers. The expansion will cause the beta to be introduced into many new regions around the US. Tesla needs to see how the beta is performing in situations it may not have encountered before.
Tesla is right to be cautious. They could come under harsh scrutiny by the NHTSA if there are any accidents or unsafe situations that endanger the public. Elon has previously commented on the importance of remaining accident free with the FSD Beta, which is why Tesla introduced the Safety Score.
If the beta is performing well, Tesla will continue to release the beta to additional testers. Those with the highest Safety Scores first. Next up would be the top drivers with a Safety Score of 99.
