More testers to be added in Tesla FSD Beta 10.3

Tesla released FSD Beta 10.2 early Monday morning. It was the first beta to see an expansion beyond the original testers with a few exceptions. The number of testers grew to about 3,000 drivers as Tesla added 1,000 additional testers based on their Safety Score algorithm.

All the new testers added had a Safety Score of 100 as expected, but as we covered in our initial impressions of 10.2, not everyone with a score of 100 received the beta.

Elon Musk clarified that Tesla only sent the beta to individuals who had driven more than 100 miles with the Safety Score turned on. Even then, it looks like Tesla may have reached the limit of testers they wanted to add as some owners with a Safety Score of 100 weren't included in this go-round. They will likely be one of the first ones to be added next. Elon had previously said that Tesla would likely hold for a few days before adding more testers to assess the beta. However, it looks like Tesla is now looking to release beta 10.3 before expanding the program any further.

It looks like we can expect FSD Beta 10.3 as early as next Friday at midnight if history is any indication. As we get closer to the release of 10.3 Elon is likely to give us a better idea.

If you're looking to receive the FSD Beta, make sure you have driven at least 100 miles and try to get your score as high as possible. It's likely the next beta will be limited to drivers with a score of 99 or higher.

If you haven't tried the Safety Score simulator in the new Tesla app, it's a good way of estimating how low you'll need to get each event percentage in order to achieve an overall score of 99 or 100.
