Elon tweeted earlier this month that Tesla would be releasing a holiday software update that would include “[a] lot of cool stuff.”
We suspect that the original Sonic the Hedgehog game will be one of the new games included in this year’s holiday release, as both Elon and Sega later confirmed that Sonic was going to be playable on Teslas.
Apart from the Sonic news, we speculated what new features may be included in the holiday release, but there have been no other details or leaks about the upcoming release until now.
Elon has now revealed just a little bit more about the festive release.
Elon said on Twitter that Tesla may release FSD Beta v10.8 and the holiday update as early as Tuesday, just a few days from now.
With all the releases, hotfixes, and delays, it can sometimes be hard to keep up with all the FSD news. FSD beta is currently on version 10.6.1, however that version has not been widespread. Most FSD Beta testers are still on version 10.5.

After Tesla released beta 10.6, they rolled out a hotfix in 10.6.1, but decided to hold off on sending that version to additional testers and instead wait for 10.7 to be ready.
Beta 10.7 was set to release this weekend, but since Tesla was close to releasing the next version, they've decided to skip the public release of 10.7 and jump directly to beta 10.8.
That brings us to Tuesday, when Tesla may start releasing beta 10.8 according to Musk.
The release notes for beta 10.7 were leaked today. Since v10.8 comes so soon after the internal build of 10.7, the release notes for 10.8 will likely be similar to 10.7.
Recent FSD Betas, including the latest 10.6.1 beta were based on Tesla's 2021.36 software branch, which is getting fairly old.
FSD Betas don't include some of the latest features such as TIDAL, Waypoints, Cruise Control Chime, Improved Driver Profiles and more.
We expect this to change with beta 10.8, which is likely to include the holiday update. Beta 10.8 will be based on one of Tesla's latest code branches and include some of the latest features.
Update: It looks like the Model 3 and Model Y may feature a new 'Dancing Mode' easter egg in this year's holiday update.
