The Robotaxi app will now notify you within the app if your phone's battery is low. The app will say, “Auto-unlock relies on your phone’s battery. Leep it charged to ensure a seamless pickup.”

While a working phone is important for any Tesla as it can serve as the vehicle’s key, it’s especially important for the Robotaxi since it’s the user’s only method to open the Robotaxi’s doors.

Scheduled Rides

There are a variety of new phrases in this app update that suggest Tesla will offer the ability for users to schedule Robotaxi rides in the future. This will be useful when a rider has a future event with a hard start time, such as an event or flight.

This will allow the user to have a vehicle ready at their pick-up location at the scheduled time, rather than having to wait 5-15 minutes for a vehicle to arrive.

The new strings include: alicorn_prebook_banner_session_details_missing, alicorn_prebook_banner_socket_disconnected, getPrebookPickupPoint and others.

In this app update, Tesla states, “We are working on accessibility rides. For now, you can access WAV rides at: “ and then mentions two companies, including Lone Star Medical Transportation and CapMetro Access.

They link off to their websites, where users can book a traditional accessible ride that accommodates wheelchairs.

However, perhaps the most interesting this, is that Tesla is using the image above of the Robovan when talking about accessible rides.
